Style

Italian

Italian Pinot Bianco is usually light to medium-bodied, clean, dry, and refreshing with mild hints of melon and pear.

France

French Pinot Blanc (mostly from Alsace) is richer and fuller flavored with more obvious fruit flavors and typically a stony minerality.

New World

New World Pinot Blanc typically falls somewhere in between style-wise, not as rich as Alsace but not as light as Italy. The goal is usually a crisp, refreshing wine that also offers enough obvious succulent fruit to appeal to the average New World white wine drinker.
